Rainy Day Play Tent

*Project by KoJo Designs*
The sun did not shine, it was too wet to play.
So we sat in the house all that cold, cold, wet day.

I sat there with Sally, we sat there, we two.
And I said, “How I wish we had something to do!”

Too wet to go out and too cold to play ball.
So we sat in the house. We did nothing at all.

So all we could do was to sit! Sit! Sit! Sit!
And we did not like it. Not one little bit.
-Cat in the Hat, Dr. Seuss

With winter approaching and the majority of our playtime moving from the backyard indoors, adding this Rainy Day Play Tent to our playroom was just the ticket to fending off both, “Mo-om, I’m bor-ed” whines and disastrous Cat in the Hat-esque messes.

This tent is big enough for several little friends as well as a pile of books, a couple of pillows, and even a stuffed Fox in Sox- the magical solution to the rainy (or snowy!) day blues.

To add to the list of Fabulous Tent Features, the hanging awning can either function as a grand entrance or be rolled up to implement an always-open-door policy. Additionally, the construction was inexpensive (like, less than $20.00 inexpensive) and surprisingly simple, helping to chase away my Impending Winter Blues, at least for a little while. Indeed, the sheer delight this tent brings to kids and parents alike is reason enough to make one before winter!
