Interview with Meg @ Mega Crafty

1.Tell us a little about you and your blog.

I started my blog in 2009. It turned out to be a
wonderful way to express my creativity and share my projects. I love to teach
people about crafting so I post a lot of tutorials. I also really enjoy trying
new kinds of crafts, so I often blog about my experiences trying new tools or
techniques.  So far the highlight
of my blogging experience has been having a few of my projects published in
national magazines. I live in New England with my husband, our sweet but mischievous
13 year old dog, and two fur balls of destruction (otherwise known as cats).

2.How and when did you start crafting?

I’ve been crafting as long as I can remember. I think it’s genetic.
My grandmother was very creative and dabbled in all sorts of things the way I
do. My mother likes to craft (although the craft addict thing seems to skip a
I got very lucky to have a family that has always supported, valued,
and fostered creativity. That includes my husband and mother-in-law (a very
crafty, and artistic woman in her own right). They’re all a big reason why I
continue to craft to this day.

3.How often do you craft?

I spend some time crafting 2-3 days a week, although I try to do something
creative every day. Sometimes that means just thinking about my next craft
project, sketching ideas or making tutorials for the blog.

4.Where do you get your inspiration?

I get inspired by a lot of things, holidays, colors, family, nature,
needing a solution to a problem. Sometimes just the craft materials themselves
are inspiration enough!

5.What is your favorite medium to work in?

Well, the answer to that changes on a week to week sometimes day to
day basis! Right now, I really enjoy making edible crafts so I’d probably say
chocolate or fondant. But Paper and Yarn/Wool are always up there at the top of
my list too.

6.What is your guilty pleasure?

Challenge/Competition and Reality Shows on Food Network, HGTV, MTV,

7.What makes you smile?

My husband, Our Pets, Family and Friends. Having a wonderful meal
made from local foods grown at our farm share. And going to the drive-in during
the summer.

8.What is your favorite thing to do (other than crafting)?
