Finale Week {wild card crafts}

Well,  here we are.  The finales of Season 6.  I don’t know about you guys, but it always seems to go so fast for me.  We have had some amazing crafters with amazing projects this season.  Thank you crafters for all that you do for this contest!  I’m amazed every week at the talent you all have!

So, as always, there is no theme for the finale…it’s a Wild Card round and it’s awesome!

It’s also not anonymous this round either.  You have all probably figured out and Bessie @ Besserina and Carlee @ Lady Bird Lane styles by now anyway.  So without further ado, here are their final projects!

Craft #1 – Ruffled Drapes by Bessie @ Besserina

How exciting it is to be here for Week 10!
For the Wild Card craft I made these Ruffled Drapes,
                              inspired by Anthropologie.

I love the tattered look of the ruffles & the natural color.
They are hung by vintage wooden curtain rods, a couple of
inches over top of the window frames to make our
8′ ceiling in this space seem a bit higher.
I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out!

Craft #2 – Shabby Chic Clock by Carlee @ Lady Bird Lane

My sister could not contain the excitement in her voice when she called me. She was home for Lamb Days and came across a killer yard sale!  She found a grandfather clock for $30.  Being the savvy business woman that she is, she haggled the price down to $15!

The clock was worn out, it had cracking finish, a few scrapes, and it needed a minor repair.  But we were not concerned, we had visions of a shabby chic clock to be the inspiration piece for my sisters new home!  Our biggest challenge was what color to paint it!

When refinishing furniture, I think it is the little details that count. We lightly glazed the details of the clock, lined the cabinet with damask fabric, painted the pendulum orange, and coated the clock with polyurethane to give it a little shine.

The result is a clock with personality, that adds a touch of whimsy to my sisters new home.  We are working on a minor repair to restore the clock to working order.

SYTYC has been such a fun adventure!
I have completed projects on my to do list, made new friends, been inspired by countless projects, and nervously watched the poll each week! Thanks Missy for putting this together! And thanks for your votes, I am so excited (and a little amazed) to be in the final round!

Wow! If I could vote for both I would! Great job ladies!! I have a special place for taking old things and making it look completely different so the clock got my vote, but the curtains were FABULOUS!

Both are wonderful in their style. Found this contest on the web. I’ve been a poster at Carlee’s linky parties for a long time, and must have missed she was in this contest. Came across this post with hubby and he (Mr. Conservative) has REQUESTED that I repaint a grandfather clock now (but in a bright red, his fave color but never on furniture before- but he’s ASKING for one now). He said that the clock took GUTS to paint, so now I’m in search of one!

Did a funny post about it on my blog. If you read my blog you know “Speavers” is pretty darn conservative, so this was interesting for him to say.

So, BOTH of us give our vote to Carlee’s clock today.

Both projects are really wonderful, though. Wow, talented!!!

I’m gonna have to go with the drapes. They are something that I would use in my home. Keep up the FANTASTIC work!! Congrats to both ladies for making it to the end:)

I love the drapes, they are awesome! The drapes are gorgeous and look like they actually took some time and creativity rather than just painting an old clock. Great job to both!
