Hey! I know that you’re all expecting a results post today. Don’t worry! I’m going to make the big announcement on Monday so hang tight.
But first I want to talk about something that I’ve been thinking about for a long time. Truncating and scrapper sites. I’m sure you’ve all seen the blogs that have been addressing it this week. If you haven’t Beth at Home Stories A to Z wrote a great post about it. I think everyone should go read about it. Basically what it is is this; there are people that will copy and paste a full post from their reader feeds and post it onto their own site to draw traffic. They’re stealing others content to make money off their own ads.
I really want to protect the hard work of the crafters every season and feel horrible every time I find that one of the projects featured here has been scrapped (it hasn’t happened very often, thank goodness, but it has happened). So, to protect the crafters that I feature I will be truncating the SYTYC feeds. I know that it creates a little more work for you readers, but I’m sure you want to help protect the crafters as much as I do.
However, I have recently discovered something that will take out the added work the truncating makes for you, and it’s totally awesome. It’s the Google Next bookmarklet. This little baby lets you go through your reader list, by visiting the actual bog site, with just one click. I wrote about it over on The House That Pinterest Built. Go check it out. It will change your life people!
And I couldn’t do this post without featuring a linky party highlight. Isn’t this skirt from Skirt as Top adorable? I love that she was inspired by an art print hanging in the little girls room. Too bad she refuses to wear it since it’s not a dress
Have any of you been inspired to make clothing based on art you have seen?
