Interview with Deidre @ A Craft A Day
1.Tell us a little about you and your blog.
Aside from my most important role in life (motherhood), I am also an artist. I love sewing, drawing, painting, and of course, quick gratification crafts. I don’t like to waste time so making something where I can see an end result in a short period of time is often therapy for me. My blog is a place where I can document the things I create. It’s a way to inspire myself.
2. What season are you returning from and what was your favorite theme from that season?
I was part of season 3 and I think my favorite theme is a toss up between “teacher gifts” and “Summer time”. The tote I made for the teacher gifts has been useful for my sons kindergarten teacher at the time. I love hearing her tell me how she still uses it. That makes it all worth it. But I love my play mat from the summer time theme. It has been so useful for us and I love seeing all of the variations it has inspired other crafters to create.
3. What have you been up to since you last competed on SYTYC?
I have been so consumed with my photography business as of late. We went from a small company that my husband and I ran to having 4 employees. It’s excited, stressful and a time sucker. But I love it. Unfortunately, it leaves me not as much time to craft which is why I’m excited for this season and being forced to craft again. I need that distraction right now!
4. What is something that not a lot of people know about you but you WISH more people COULD know?
I love to write and I dream of writing a book in the near future. some day.
5. Are you a morning or night person?
Night. It’s quiet and I’m far more productive.
6. What is your guilty pleasure?
Desperate Housewives. I love that show. I love watching that as a means of distraction.
7. What is your favorite breakfast food?
Scones. Any kind. I just love those with a hot cup of coffee.
8. What is your favorite thing to do (other than crafting)?
Spending time with my kids. I love how unpredictable life is because of them.
