Interview with Carlee @ LadyBird Lane

Carlee was the runner up for Season 9 of SYTYC. She is such a fun talented lady! here’s a little bit to help you get to know her better.

1.Tell us a little about you and your blog.

I am super lucky because I get to blog at Ladybird Ln with my best friend {and sister} Alyssa… at least that is the plan. She has been busy finishing school, starting a career, falling in love that sort of thing… but once she settles, you will get to know her better!

I am the mom of three wildadorable children, and wife to hunky cowboy! They are all very supportive to me, m hubby mainly of my recipe segments!

We work together on our family farm and turkey ranch. We are every busy, and like it that way!

Ladybird Ln, refers to the road my sister and I grew up on! Alyssa and I have very eclectic interests, on our blog you will find graphic art, sewing projects, painting projects, kids projects, and recipes, really anything goes. One of our favorite features is Crafting for a Cause each month we feature a Service/humanitarian craft/sewing projecting that we try to get everyone to participate in. Our favorite part of blogging is meeting wonderful crafters from around the world.

2.How and when did you start crafting?

I have been crafting ever since I can remember… When other kids wanted barbies, I wanted a BeDazzler! Although I did design my barbie’s a pretty sweet house out of shoe boxes once! As a child in my room I had ‘making boxes full of construction paper, stickers, pipe cleaners, to make stuff when I felt like it!

3.How often do you craft?

As often as I can! I would say daily… I usually have AT LEAST one project going on!

4.Where do you get your inspiration?

My children, nature, magazines, the newspaper (yes I read the newspaper), blogs, music… really I try to constantly keep my eyes open for new fun things to create.

5.What is your favorite medium to work in?

My first instinct is sewing, I really love to sew EASY kids clothes, quilts, and bags. But how could I leave out paint, I love seeing the new life paint brings to any project! Then again, how could I leave out digital art, it is my new favorite medium, I love designing printables, blog buttons, and art… I don’t know what I did without photoshop! SO there you have it!

6.What is your guilty pleasure?

Cake Wrecks! I can not get enough of that blog, I think I am their biggest stalker! There is something so intrinsically satisfying about confection gone wrong!

7.What makes you smile?

Being a mom is a HARD job… But every now and then, when my kids are working happily together, and helping eachother out, I think that it is all worth it, and it makes me smile.

8.What is your favorite thing to do (other than crafting)?

Reading, I am a book worm, their is nothing better then a good book.
