1.Tell us a little about you and your blog.
I’m a former engineer turned crafty Mummy to a toddler son and baby girl, living in Brisbane, Australia. I fell
into the rabbit hole of craft blogs after my son was born, and decided to give it a go myself (helping me to
focus during naptimes!). I kept randomly thinking up blog names, and Cook Clean Craft stuck in my head,
and so my blog was born. I share my favourite recipes and cooking adventures, cleaning and household
organization tips, and whatever crafts capture my attention, including sewing, felt, crochet and cardboard.
2.How and when did you start crafting?
I think I’ve always crafted. I used to love watching the craft sections on the Australian kids’ TV shows “Fat
Cat and Friends” and “Here’s Humphrey” when I was little. I was always bugging my Mum to let me try them
(although I rarely did – I don’t think Mum wanted to deal with the mess!). I used to “help” my Grandpa in his
woodworking shed, nailing scraps together. My Mum did a lot of sewing and would let me help too. Crafting
got pushed to the side as I started university and working life, but the crafty-bug bit me in a big way when I
got pregnant with my son.
3.How often do you craft?
Whenever I can! I don’t like to spend time crafting when the kids are awake, so I get to work during naptime
a few days a week, and my husband is sweet enough to give me some time to myself on the weekends,
which I usually spend in my craft room.
4.Where do you get your inspiration?
There are so many fabulous craft bloggers inspiring me. A lot of my crafting is problem-solving. I see
something we need, whether that’s clothes, or bookends, or a toy, and then I try to nut out my own, unique
solution, often with the help of google, but sometimes inspiration strikes me in the strangest of places.
5.What is your favorite medium to work in?
I love that there is so much to learn with sewing – so many different techniques, and so much scope to create
original items, whether that’s clothes, toys, homewares. I think I could sew everyday for the rest of my life
and still be learning and having fun!
6.What is your guilty pleasure?
The one thing I’m a little ashamed to talk about is my love of Next Top Model. It is such cheesy reality TV,
but I can’t get enough!
7.What makes you smile?
Now that my baby girl is getting older and more interactive, seeing my kids in a fit of giggles together is just
so special and always brings a smile to my face.
8.What is your favorite thing to do (other than crafting)?
A cup of tea and reading a good book in bed is my favourite way to end my crazy days.
