Sunshine {week 6}
My weekend was awesome you guys. My husband had been gone for two weeks for training for a new job, but he got home Friday night. We just got to hang out all day Saturday. There was plenty of Tangled watching with the little and just sitting around and being together. Than I got together with old roommates for a girls night. It was fabulous. I hope you all had a great weekend too.
Last week Jill @ Made it on Monday was our winner with her gorgeous Morning Glory Dress.

Isn’t that so fun? I love everything about it. Jill has been on vacation so she’ll get the tutorial to us when she gets home to her pictures.
I got some really sad news from Tori last Monday. Her mother passed away over Easter weekend. She has decided that she needs to spend more time with her family and has resigned from the competition. We’re going to miss having her, but I completely understand her decision. Since Tori is leaving, no one else will be eliminated this week.
Tori’s fun Pinkalicious Chandelier did well last week. I love the pattern that it leaves on the walls when lite. Who doesn’t love polka dots?

Please stop by her blog, Apostrophy Designs, to let her know you’re thinking about her.
This week’s theme is one I’m hoping will come true in my neck of the woods, Sunshine. I’m done with rainy, cold, gross weather and I’m sure a lot of you are too.
The poll will be open until Friday night, May 6th so be sure to vote for your favorite!
Craft #1 – Sunny Little Miss and Mister Outfits – Jill @ Made it on Monday
Craft #2 – Sun Dresses and Bloomers – Tone @ Bless by Tone
(My neighbor forgot to fasten the hook in her dress)
Sunshine.. I used to
sing You are my Sunshine to my kids when they were little, though I would
change the lyrics a bit, and I ended it with: please just know that mommy
loves you.
So with this weeks theme I
wanted to incorporate the song. I made sun dresses for mommy (neighbor)
and daughter, the girl dress needed some vintage bloomers. And I made a
sun shield.

The sun shield is painted with the text: You are my sunshine – fabric paint
The dresses are
inspired by this Chasing
Fireflies-dress and this Modcloth-dress
Having a picnic, in a romantic dress and being able to get some shade from the sun – what could be more perfect?
The dresses and the
sun shield all bring me back to the old days – and they are perfect for a
picnic in the sun. The shield is for giving some shade to the food or to
the baby.
Can you tell it was a
cold day – 60 degrees and cold winds, they were both really freezing and I
had to be really fast taking the shots. (She’s trying to get some heat
from the pillow…)
But I LOVE how these turned out. And I hope you do the same.
Craft #3 – Retro Swim Caps – Kate @ See Kate Sew
Let’s go retro this summer with 50s inspired swim caps for girls!

Nothing says sunshine more than a trip to the pool, but we don’t want to mess up our perfectly set hair! Never! Throw on a ruffly swim cap and we’re good to go! Whether you’re laying by the pool or running on the beach, these swim caps will keep your hair safe from water, salt, chlorine and sunshine! Take it off and wave those curls!
Now we’ll be the talk of the town! Oh so vintage and oh so stylish!
Craft #4 - little miss sunshine – Shannon @ GoogieMomma
“Nonsense,” said Little Miss Sunshine. “It’s really very easy,” she smiled.

Summery yellow seersucker (the ultimate sunny weather fabric!), some pretty yellow swirls…and little miss sunshine herself, hand embroidered onto the pocket!

Craft #5 – Madd Hatter Kate Middleton’s Sunburst Hat – Becky @ Beckymae’s Journey

Hi! I'm Missy and I'll be your host. “So You Think You’re Crafty” is a head-to-head crafting competition - the first “reality” blog. Every 10 weeks a new group of crafters is selected. Each week the crafters are given a theme and YOU vote for your favorite.

Now that really was a hard one to vote on. They were absolutely fantastic. If I’d survived to this point, I’m convinced this competition would have done me in.
That was the toughest one ever. I’m still not sure who to vite for. Awesome projects!!
My deepest sympathies to Tori and her family.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Tori and her family.
Thanks everyone for the warm wishes…also thanks missy for being so sweet!
Good luck ladies, these crafts are outstanding!
Oh my goodness! all of these are so wonderful! how do I pick just one????
