1.Tell us a little about you and your blog.
Hi! I’m Mandy, and I write a blog called Mandipidy [very much like serendipity]. I love to write up tutorials for the projects that I make and feature lovely handmade shops that I find.
2.How and when did you start crafting?
Ever since I was a child, I have loved to make things out of yarn and fabric. When I was 11, I made a silly little “catalog” of merchandise that I could make and tried to get my friends and family to order from me [I didn't charge anything, but I still had a hard time getting "customers"!].
3.How often do you craft?
I am seriously ALWAYS crafting! My daily question is not whether or not I will craft… it’s “what will I craft?”
4.Where do you get your inspiration?
Welllll. . . honestly, most of my stuff just kinda accidentally happens! I experiment a lot- sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. But my hubs can attest that whenever we are out shopping, I am constantly finding things that I like and saying “I could make that,” or “I wish I could make that.” I’m inspired by just about everything!
5.What is your favorite medium to work in?
Yarn and felt… definitely yarn and felt.
6.What is your guilty pleasure?
Desperate Housewives… and puffy cheetos.
7.What makes you smile?
I feel blessed beyond measure to be able to do what I love. God has given me the most amazing husband a girl could ask for- he encourages me to pursue my dreams, and he’s there for me when I need to vent about my frustrations [it takes a special guy to put up with all my crafty talk- ha!]. I love him so much!
8.What is your favorite thing to do (other than crafting)?
I LOVE the beach. There is nothing that I love more than a day at the ocean… soaking up the smells, feels, and the warm sun- Mmmmm!
