Interview with Lauren @ Creatively Crafty Baby

by Missy on November 3, 2010

1.Tell us a little about you and your blog.
I started my craft blog as a way of separating my craft stuff from my personal blog. I mostly post pictures fo the things I’ve made and occasionally I post tutorials if I have time.

2.How and when did you start crafting?
I started out sewing when I was little. My mom taught me how to sew clothes for my dolls. It was all down hill from there. I made most of my dresses for high school dances, and that made me realize that while it might not always be less expensive to sew most clothing, you can create beautiful unique items when you make them yourself. From there I have gotten into crafting with other mediums, however, sewing is still my passion.

3.How often do you craft?
As often as I can! But that isnt always as often as I like.

4.Where do you get your inspiration?
Fabric is often my inspiration. When you see an a amazing peice of fabric it can speak to you. But there are a lot of tiems when I see somethign in a store and think… “man if that only had ____ then it would be perfect!” So I go home and figure it out.

5.What is your favorite medium to work in?
As I said, I love to work with fabric. Taking a “blank canvas” and turning it into something beautiful is extremely satisfying.

6.What is your guilty pleasure?
My “trashy” TV. (My husbands words.) I LOVE greys anatomy, project runway, americas next top model and a couple other shows my husband has deeemed ridiculous.

7.What makes you smile?
My kids. Even though they drive me crazy a lot of times… They also make me smile more than anyone or anything else.

8.What is your favorite thing to do (other than crafting)?
Camping. We LOVE to camp in our family. Being outside together hiking and cooking over a fire is so fun!
